Caring for nature begins with knowledge, but real change happens when that knowledge becomes a way of life.
Through the “Little Water Guardians” initiative, students from rural areas had the opportunity to learn why water is one of our most valuable natural resources and how each of us can actively contribute to its protection. Through educational workshops, practical activities and collaborative learning, they developed environmental awareness, a sense of responsibility and the motivation to become drivers of positive change in their communities.
🌱 Green social work connects people, communities and nature. By involving children from rural areas, we create equal opportunities for learning, active participation and the development of life skills. At the same time, the initiative promotes inclusion, social cohesion, teamwork and mutual support, showing that sustainable change is possible when we all become part of the solution.
A particular value of this initiative is the cross-sectoral cooperation established through the signing of Memorandums of Cooperation with ELS Municipality of Kumanovo, Public Institution Inter-Municipal Centre for Social Work – Kumanovo, and Primary School “Vera Kotorka” – Klechovce village. This partnership represents an example of synergy between local government, institutions and the education sector, working together to contribute to a healthier, more inclusive and more sustainable community.
💧 When we teach children to protect water, we teach them to protect the future. Small steps today create generations that will build a more humane, responsible and greener society.
The initiative is part of the project “ЗЗЗ – Together for Green Advocacy for Environmental Protection”, supported by the Embassy of Switzerland in North Macedonia/Government of Switzerland through Civica Mobilitas, in partnership with CMA KRIK, Center for Social Initiatives “Nadez”, and the Association of Social Workers of Macedonia – ZSRM.
