Throughout September, in cooperation with the PHI Psychiatric Hospital Skopje, a series of five practical workshops was implemented with patients at the Day Hospital.
The workshops were designed as short and structured activities through which nature, creative work and care for the immediate environment were used as tools to encourage participation, socialization and the well-being of patients.
This approach is part of the concept of green social work, which connects the environment, mental health and people’s everyday functioning. Through practical activities, patients were given opportunities to actively participate, work together and develop a sense of responsibility, belonging and achievement.
These five workshops are another example of how caring for the environment can simultaneously serve as a tool for psychosocial support and for creating a higher-quality environment for everyday functioning.
The activities were implemented within the project “Together for Green Advocacy – ZZZ”, carried out by CMA KRIK, Center for Social Initiatives NADEZ and the Association of Social Workers of Macedonia, with the support of the Government of Switzerland through Civica Mobilitas.
